Cellist Jacob Braun is a recording soloist in Hollywood who collaborates with some of the biggest names in the industry. Recognized for his unique silky tone, he is an established artist in the world of Soundtracks for Motion Pictures and Television. Jacob has made Los Angeles his residence since 2012.
A Native of Lincoln, Massachusetts, Jacob was immersed in the culture of Boston’s fine arts. He began his musical life at an early age on piano with his mother, soon discovering the cello as his true passion.
Jacob and his cello have navigated across America, Europe, and Asia, both as soloist and chamber musician, performing in all the major concert venues. As a member of the Biava Quartet, he was granted the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at Wigmore Hall in London, UK.
In addition to his successful career as a recording artist Mr. Braun is an accomplished teacher, and has inspired many cellists throughout his career. He has taught at prestigious schools as faculty and guest artist at The University of California, Santa Barbara, Chapman University, and The Colburn School, Los Angeles. He holds degrees at The Cleveland Institute of Music (Bachelor of Music), The New England Conservatory of Music (Master of Music), and Yale University (Artist Diploma).
